Amplifier question on 4 ohm load?
would you have to get a generally more expensive amp if you run dual 4ohm subs? i have (2) kicker subs L5 10" what amp would u suggest and would it just be cheaper to buy the 2ohm subs? Here are the specs:

There are 2 options to this package, get 2ohms or 4 ohms so would it be cheaper to stick with the 2 ohms or 4 ohms considering buying a 500 watt amp...thanks
You can put together a decent system with either option, but if you get the 2-ohm subs, you'll have more to choose from when you're looking for an amp.
Because you're looking at dual voice coil subs, combining two 2-ohm subs lets you wire them so that the amp sees a combined 2-ohm load. If you pick the 4-ohm subs, you can wire them so that the amp sees a 1-ohm or a 4-ohm load.
You're going to want to buy a mono amplifier; that's the best choice for subwoofers. Most mono amps are designed to produce their maximum power output when used with a 2-ohm load. Any mono amp can drive a 4-ohm load, but you'll usually get a lower power output than if you had a 2-ohm system; and there aren't as many amplifiers that are capable of driving a 1-ohm load. 2 ohms is your best option.
