what will happen if i put more than 2 rca y cables on my sub pre-amp output at the back of my deck?
i have a rockford fosgate r300-4 and i want to use it to power 1 12" 4ohm dvc sub but my deck only has one single sub output.So i wanted to connect a y to that to make it 2 then on each of the 2 connect a y to make it 4 low output for my sub.
but i want to know if that is dangerous an could damage my deck?

to chris, the reason for me saying that is it is a 4 ch amp which means there is 2 pairs of input on the amp. The amp has no outputs on it,only inputs and my deck has only 1 output for my sub and thats y i came to 3 rca y's
one for the single sub output, to make that 2(1pair) and if i connect 2 more y's to it i will end up with two pairs(4 rca jacks in all)for my r300-4
I asked the question because of some 2v something but i was not sure so i wanted to know if all those y's can cause a problem
You will be fine. The most that will happen is you might have to set the gain on the amp a little higher than normal to compensate.
BTW I have almost the same setup. I have an old Sherwood XA-1240Q which is bridged to 2 channels driving the 2 voice coils of an MTX RT-1044 sub separately.
One thing that is VERY important with a setup like this is that the amp channels are perfectly matched as the 2 VCs will act like a transformer and if one amp channel is putting out more voltage than the other the amp will either not load both channels equally if it is mildly unbalanced or the amp channels can literally fight each other if they are way unbalanced. For instance if I unhook one RCA cable on mine and turn it up the amp will fight itself so much that it shuts down. If your amp only has 1 gain control for all 4 channels this should be easy but if it is like the Sherwood and has individual gain controls for each channel it takes some fine tuning to get it right.
